About

Mingxuan Wang is a Shanghai-trained soloist with San Francisco Ballet. After the SF Ballet School Trainee Program, he was named an apprentice in 2013, joined the company in 2014, and was promoted to soloist in 2025.

His stage work spans Balanchine’s Diamonds, story ballets including Swan Lake, Giselle, Nutcracker, and Cinderella, and contemporary creations by Aszure Barton, William Forsythe, Alexei Ratmansky, Cathy Marston, and others.

2005–2012
Shanghai Dance School

Seven years of professional classical ballet training in Shanghai.

2012–2013
San Francisco Ballet School

Trainee Program, with performances in Paquita, The Sleeping Beauty, and Myles Thatcher’s Stone and Steel.

2013–2014
Apprentice to Company

Named an SF Ballet apprentice in 2013; joined the corps de ballet in 2014.

2025–Present
Soloist

Promoted to soloist at San Francisco Ballet after more than a decade with the company.
